Welcome! My name is Janice Hartley and I am the creator of this program. I am the founder of the Anxiety And Trauma Clinic Of Nova Scotia where I also work as a Registered Counselling Therapist-C. My titles include Canadian Certified Counsellor, Clinical Traumatologist, Field Intervention Specialist and Compassion Fatigue Specialist.
My journey into the counselling world started with my own experience with severe anxiety, OCD and trauma. My symptoms were severe and I knew my future was at stake. I needed help and fast. I went to therapy and each session made me feel worst than the last. I tried medication and reacted very badly to it. Unable to find the help that I needed, I began searching for the therapies, tools and techniques that actually work for someone with severe anxiety. My journey catapulted me into a world of research and training where I found what I needed. I've been anxiety free for over 10 years! These therapies, tools and techniques are available to you now. I developed this program to help those who cannot find the help they need, who cannot access good help or who have financial concerns. This program is available at a small fraction of the cost of regular therapy and we offer a payment plan to anyone who needs it as well.
You can do difficult things. You need to overcome this but you need the right guidance to be able to do that.
This course is designed for adults suffering from moderate to severe anxiety. It is for any person who is suffering day-to-day with the symptoms of anxiety. The online program format may appeal to those who find it hard to get to appointments, those who find therapy hard to afford and those who prefer to learn on their own.
2. What can I expect from this course?
The course will help you understand your anxiety, recognize your symptoms and patterns and increase your self-awareness. From there you will learn how to calm down your anxious brain and body through learning various relaxation techniques, coping strategies, thinking strategies and lifestyle changes. Nearing the end of the course you will design a plan to tackle your anxiety incorporating everything that you have learned.
Please note that it is up to you to implement these tools and strategies on a regular basis and stay involved in your own recovery.This course is not meant to be a substitute for long-term counselling services. While this course can give you the tools and strategies to calm your anxiety, it is not designed to be able to cover all aspects of mental health. For example, some anxious thoughts are linked to beliefs from traumatic experiences. If you notice that you need help with traumatic experiences consider reaching out to a counsellor. 3. Any tips for success in the course?
Reduce outside stress. Make a commitment to your healing. Make an intention to focus on yourself while completing the course. Consider who your supportive people are and how you can develop more supportive relationships, if needed. Speak to a counsellor if you notice other concerns popping up or have questions about your healing.
4. Can I get a refund if I decide the course isn't for me?
Yes! We want you to be successful and if this course isn't the right fit for you that's okay. We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Due to the digital nature of this product we also request that you not complete more than 10% of the course in order to receive a refund. All refunds are processed with 3-5 business days.
5. Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes we do. We have tried to make this course as accessible as possible. In order to help make the course more affordable we are offering a payment plan whereby you can make two payments. One payment is due the day you sign up for the course and the other payment is due 2 weeks following the purchase. We also have options for those who are unable to pay using a credit card.
